My Old Friend The Blues.......

"Just let me hide my weary heart in you....my old friend the blues"

I'm exhausted....burnt out.......mentally tapped........found that "Chipper" my little chipmunk had drowned in a bucket this morning. Yup, not pretty.

In order to set my world back on track below is my Top 10 Picks for Best Music Videos of the 80's. [apparently I should have labeled this week MUSIC WEEK!]

10. Mary's Prayer - Danny Wilson - this song was so underrated and it still is. The video however is hilarious. I was and continue to be so amused by the "seriousness" of these videos.
09. Broken Wings - Mr. Mister - If you were a fan of Days of Our Lives in the 80's then you know exactly why this song has an impact. Nuff Said!
08. Faith - George Michael - Before he broke all of our teenage hearts this video was top notch. The organ music and his butt. I mean come on ladies!
07. Hot For Teacher - Van Halen - This video is so wrong on a million different levels. Boys and their teachers whatever weird fantasy that is I don't know...And David Lee Roth I'm so glad you left the band. You're a terrible....terrible dancer! Which leads me to.......
06. I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar - oh Sammy I love you!! This video is filled with classic 80's looks, outfits, hair, and bad 80's acting. There isn't anything in this video NOT to love.
05. Dancing In The Dark - Bruce Springsteen - Although my appreciation for Bruce Springsteen did not come until many years later I still loved this video. Can you imagine if you were asked to dance on stage? I can tell you I wouldn't be doing the toe tappin swing arm shuffle!!! And then to find out it was all staged and the mystery girl ends up being Courtney Cox....what a bummer.
04. Rock Me Amadeus - Falco - Not only is this video funny but the song cracks me up....How much coke do you have to snort in order to think that this was a good idea? This video never made sense to me which is why I always found it entertaining...there has to be some meaning, right?
03.Only The Lonely - The Motels - These are the videos that made me think it was OK to put on really bad make up...I still love this song today however...filled with awesome 80's cheezy drama.
02. Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley - Seriously he looks like he's about 11 years old and we were all suppose to believe that he had a croonie voice like Tony Bennett? Again - Pure 80's cheezwiz in this video. It has the symbolic toe tappin swing arm shuffle, some spins, a canadian tuxedo and lots of jazz hands!

And Number One for Pikers Picks????
01. Home Sweet Home - Motley Crue - It just symbolizes 80's Music Videos. Oh Motley Crue how much I love you.....

an ounce of pretentious is worth a pound of manure.
