The VERY FIRST skirt is completed!

So, this was a challenge of epic proportion not only did I not have a clue what was going on...I really had no clue as to what was going on. I lost the thread on the bobbin and it took me a week to come back to it with a calm brain and not TOSS the sewing machine, manual and all out the window. Then I tried to make a button stitch. Word to the novice. NEVER TRY THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON!. Then I made the hole to small to pull the drawstring through. Not without trying to jam the following - knitting needle poked through ribbon, crochet needle taped on both ends, MAYBE twine would work better??? What the heck are you thinking??? your shredding your terrible button hole!!!! Big sigh and total aggrivation I deem the drawstring incurable. Run upstairs and rip up a an old pair of sweatpants with an elastic waste band. Redo waist line with a larger hole. Cut elastic to a normal size and not fruit of the loom grammy pants. In the end. I completed the skirt.

VOILA!

and on the side seems I added these little pretties.....

And a little pocket...with flowers added

old lady hands......

What did I learn....
  • next time pin the sides in a little closer - I'm not as GIANT as I think I am...
  • dont be so impatient...[ummmm yeah right]
  • buy more pretty things to add to the skirt. The potential is unlimited!!!
More to come - Look out Fashion World...I'm about to make clothes that actually fit the normal body!!!

an ounce of pretentious is worth a pound of manure.
