Musical Discussion ~ The Flying Burrito Brothers ~

Last night I heard a song on "OutLaw Country" called Wheels by the Flying Burrito Brothers. It is very pretty, in a folkie country kind of way. I asked my musical encyclopedia Geeeeoff if he knew anything about the Flying Burriot Brothers and the following information came flowing out.

You would best know them from the Byrds as Chris Hillman was one of the founding members. Along with Roger Mcguinn - Gene and Michael Clarke and one of your favorities David Crosby. To which I reply...Huh...I didn't know that. Are they affiliated with that song about the "bandito burrito" that makes no sense to me [actually a song I detest] to which he replies YES!!! That song is actually written by David Allen Coe and makes reference to the Byrds and the Eagles and a number of other bands....I think he references The Beattles as well. But Chris Hillman is also part of The Desert Rose Band. We have one of their albums because your brother Thom gave us an album one year for CHRISTMAS you actually really enjoy some of the songs off of that. To which I reply.....Huh...I didn't know that.

And that ends todays lesson on the Flying Burrito Brothers.
